Fog and mist caused poor visibility in some parts of the country in the early hours of Thursday morning, according to the National Centre for Meteorology.

At around 2am, visibility reduced in some internal areas to less than 1,000 metres, but the fog and mist were expected to lift by 9am.

Areas affected included Madinat Zayed in the Al Dhafra area and Sweihan in Abu Dhabi.

The weather is expected to be fair to partly cloudy at times with a gradual increase in temperatures, which are expected to reach highs of 26°C internally and lows of 4°C in the mountains.

Humidity is likely to increase at night and in the early hours of the morning leading to potential fog and mist over some coastal and internal areas.

The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea with light to moderate winds, reaching a speed of 30 kilometres and hour at times.

More clouds will appear over the northern and eastern areas on Friday.

Temperatures are expected to drop on Saturday night while the skies will stay fair to partly cloudy at times.
