DUBAI// Cloudy skies and dusty roads are expected this weekend, forecasters have warned.
North-westerly winds will sweep the country, particularly in the Western Region.
Temperatures are also expected to fall in some areas.
The weather has also led to the cancellation of Saturday's Al Ghaffal dhow race as winds are expected to exceed 20 knots.
The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology is urging motorists to drive carefully, especially when visibility is reduced, and cautioned against going out to the sea.
Winds will start gradually tomorrow in western areas, stirring up dust and sand, and temperatures will drop across the Arabian Gulf coast.
The weather will be hazy over some areas on Saturday and Sunday, followed by a "significant fall" in temperatures.
Forecasters said the north-westerly winds would continue blowing strongly over the sea at times, making the Arabian Gulf "rough to very rough".
The dhow race has been postponed until May 25. More than 100 dhows were due to take part in the 23rd staging of the long-distance sailing event.
