UAE weather: Chance of rain continues along the coast, islands

A weather advisory continues to be in effect until noon Tuesday warning of a chance of rain clouds developing over the coast and islands in the Arabian Gulf, especially in the western part of the country.

The National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) recorded moderate rain in Jebel Ali before 8 am, while other areas in the UAE experienced mist and fog.

With wind speeds having decreased only slightly, to between 12 kilometres per hour (kph) and 24 kph, the sea conditions are expected to continue to be moderate to rough at times in the Gulf and slight to moderate in the Oman Sea.

Temperatures will be coolest in the mountain areas, where highs will peak between 11°C and 17°C. The coastal areas will experience pleasant temperatures, with highs between 20°C and 26°C, while the rural areas will be slightly warmer, with the mercury reaching between 23°C and 28°C.
