UAE Vice President and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince exchange New Year's greetings

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed marked the new year and the first day of the Year of Zayed on Monday with a lunch banquet in Dubai.

The Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai exchanged greetings with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, with the latter stressing the importance of continuing to drive for transformation and development in the UAE, including the empowerment of UAE nationals, and continued loyalty to the homeland.

They congratulated the people of the UAE, wishing Emiratis and people of the world sustained successes and prosperity, reported state news agency Wam.

Also in attendance was Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Sheikh Diab bin Mohammed, Chairman of the Department of Transport and Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

To mark 100 years since the birth of the country's Founding Father, 2018 was in the summer declared as the Year of Zayed by the President, Sheikh Khalifa. It will serve as a symbol of the values of giving and tolerance cherished by the United Arab Emirates since its establishment.
