Multiple accidents on Sheikh Zayed Road have caused kilometres of tailbacks for commuters heading to Abu Dhabi from Dubai.

The near standstill begins from Ibn Battuta Mall and stretches beyond the length of Dubai Marina, in line with Skydive Dubai.

Meanwhile, slow moving traffic was reported on many roads, with the usual congestion on E311 Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Road from Al Turrfa in Sharjah to Nad Al Sheba in Dubai and on E11 Al Ittihad Street from Sharjah Industrial Area 7 to Al Baraha.

Commuters should expect delays on D88 - Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Street from Al Kifaf to Bur Dubai, on D71 - Upper Deck Road from Zabeel 2 to DIFC, and on D65 - Al Marabea Street from Al Quoz Industrial Area 4 to Al Barsha 2.

In Abu Dhabi, traffic was building on Hazza Bin Zayed Street on Al Maryah Island.
