Motorists this morning in the capital are warned to expect delays around the Burj Mohammed Bin Rashid Tower at the World Trade Centre. Civil Defence teams are carrying out a fire drill at about 9am code-named "Tower" at the tallest building in Abu Dhabi.

Elsewhere in the capital, traffic was slow on Salam Street on Wednesday morning. Roads were also particularly heavy inbound on the E22 from Al Ain approaching the Maqta Bridge and around the Novotel Abu Dhabi Hotel where a crash was reported inbound on the E20.

In Dubai it was slow moving around the Ras Al Khor Road southbound close to Dubai Design District.

In Sharjah, there was heavy traffic on the E11 southbound from Safeer Mall and around Cultural Square.

The rest of the emirates looked relatively clear on Wednesday morning.

Police have urged motorists to drive slowly when traffic is heavy and not to tailgate.
