Rush hour motorists face further delays on Monday morning following an accident on the E44 Al Khail Road heading towards Business Bay Bridge.
A second road accident on the E311 Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road in Sharjah near the intersection with the Muwailih Commercial district was also adding to journey times for drivers.
Tailbacks along the E10 heading towards the Abu Dhabi Corniche were causing delays to journey times as the morning traffic began to increase.
A build up of vehicles along 19th Street in Al Mushrif was also causing congestion on Monday morning, but elsewhere most roads were free of heavy traffic with no major accidents reported in the capital.
In Dubai, excessive traffic was reported on Sheikh Zayed Road heading in the direction of Sharjah close to Dubai International Airport, just before 8am.
Drivers in Al Quoz were also experiencing extended travel times due to congestion, but no major accidents were reported.
Hessa Street traffic was backing up in the usual areas towards Al Sufouh with drivers encouraged to use alternative routes to help reduce hold-ups.
