Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has been named Personality of the Year for Family Cohesion and Social Security by the Arab Family Organisation.
Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed, the Ruler of Sharjah, praised Sheikh Saif’s humanitarian and social efforts, his continued support for stronger family ties and his efforts to preserve the social fabric of the UAE.
But Sheikh Saif said yesterday that praise should be given to the real force behind the country’s strong social cohesion – Sheikh Khalifa, the President.
“God has bestowed upon us a wise leadership that put the UAE family at the heart of its concerns, as it strongly believes in the family’s role and importance in ensuring the nation’s stability and the growth of its society,” Sheikh Saif said.
“The social security and stability that we witness today can be attributed to the leadership’s efforts.
“We confirm that the Emirati family was able to withstand the challenges that come with globalisation and openness thanks to its positive values and its solid Arab Islamic traditions.”
