More than 30,000 visitors crossed into the UAE from Saudi Arabia to celebrate the Eid Al Adha holiday.

A total of 32,930 people crossed the Saudi Arabia-Ghweifat border in the Western region between October 24 and 28.

Of those that travelled through the border, 26,193 were from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) including 16,445 citizens of Saudi Arabia.

Medical and immigration services were present on the border for returning Haj pilgrims.

Major Rashid Hamdan Al Naqbi, the vice president of the Ghweifat port, said the numbers indicate that the UAE is a "tourist magnet" for GCC residents.
