DUBAI // A man described by police as a ‘dangerous’ drug dealer has been arrested after officers found more than 22,000 Tramadol pills in his possession.

AH, an Emirati in his twenties, was arrested in a sting operation carried out jointly by Dubai and Sharjah police on December 9.

Authorities started investigations after receiving information about AH's illegal dealings.

They raided his home in Al Kalba city and found 22,159 Tramadol pills hidden in one of the rooms.

"He [AH] confessed during interrogation that he had received the pills from another Gulf natiional in a neigbhouring country," said Colonel Ali Al Khail, head of the anti-narcotics department at Sharjah Police.

"He also told us that the two have a long history of cooperation in their drug trafficking work," said Col Al Khail.
