ABU DHABI // Weather experts are advising motorists to use extra caution over the next two days because of strong northeasterly winds that will kick up dust and sand, limiting roadway visibility.
The strong northeasterly winds that are already blowing across the UAE are expected to increase over the next two days.
The National Center of Meteorology & Seismology (NCMS) said today that poor horizontal visibility is expected to drop to 2,000 metres because of blowing dust and sand.
The NCMS also has advised against any shipping or fishing activities as wind speeds over the sea are ranging between 25 and 30 knots, which will cause waves to reach up to 12 feet.
The wind speed over land, which is related to a high pressure extending from the north of Saudi Arabia, is expected to reach up to 25 knots.
According to the NCMS, the strong winds will gradually start to decrease on Monday.
