UAE Haj pilgrims urged to comply with Saudi regulations
Emirati pilgrims going to Mecca to perform Haj are being urged by UAE authorities to fully comply with Saudi regulations.
These include a ban on buses with fewer than 25 passenger seats from travelling to Mecca and the holy sites.
Maj Gen Mohammed bin Al Awadi Al Menhali, director general of police operations at Abu Dhabi Police, called on all pilgrims to “fully cooperate and abide by instructions when they arrive in Saudi territories”.
Pilgrims are advised to provide all the information required by the Saudi authorities to ensure a smooth and safe visit, he said.
Maj Gen Al Menhali spoke as part of an awareness and safety campaign being conducted by Abu Dhabi Police in the interests of pilgrims.
