DUBAI // Many flights scheduled to arrive at airports across the country yesterday were diverted because of fog.

The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology predicted similar conditions could cause further delays in the coming days.

“There will be fog over the coastal areas and the northern regions,” said a forecaster.

“The condition will repeat itself on Sunday morning, mostly over the central regions.”

The temperature will remain moderate during the day and will dip to relatively cold at night.

About seven flights coming into Abu Dhabi International Airport were diverted to other emirates.

Authorities at the Sharjah International Airport said all flights scheduled to land this morning were delayed or diverted.

Air Arabia, the largest budget carrier in the region, had several of their flights diverted but none cancelled.
