UAE expat doctor Karabus happy to be home and reveals book plan

Dr Cyril Karabus, a paediatric oncologist, is set to pen the details of his nine-month ordeal, which began when he was arrested at Dubai airport last August.

The South African doctor who was detained in the UAE on charges of forgery and manslaughter is planning to write a book about how he cleared his name.

The 78-year-old had been convicted in his absence over the death of a three-year-old while he was working at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in 2002. He returned home in May.

"It was an awful nine months and it is great to be back home," Dr Karabus said.
