The UAE has donated more than US$2 million to the UN's development activities for 2013.
UAE donates US$2m to United Nations
The UAE announced on Wednesday that it has donated more than US$2 million for the United Nation's development activities in 2013.
The $2,194,000 (Dh8.1 million) donation was announced at the 2012 United Nations Pledging Conference for Development Activities, which was held at the United Nation's headquarters in New York City, US.
According to WAM, the state news agency, the donation includes $1 million for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
The Government has also given $324,000 to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), $200,000 to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), $100,000 to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and $100,000 to the Fund to Support Marine Navigation in the Strait of Malacca, among others.
