DUBAI // The General Civil Aviation Authority hosted top international delegates at a reception in Montreal, Canada recently as part of the UAE’s bid to be renominated to a select aviation council.

The reception was held on September 28 for diplomats and delegates from 190 nations  participating in the 38th session of the general assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

“The UAE stands for synchronized global cooperation and constantly seeks opportunities to extend bridges with the global international community,” said Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, the UAE minister of economy and the GCAA chairman. The reception was part of the UAE’s campaign to win a seat on ICAO council for the third consecutive time.

Elections for council member states will be held on October 2.
