Emirates News Agency and Israel’s Tazpit Press Service have agreed to deepen ties.

The state news agencies will exchange news, video and photographs from their respective countries daily and free of charge, it was announced on Wednesday.

Emirates News Agency, known as Wam, has also launched a service in Hebrew.

The agencies will also arrange exchange visits to develop expertise and build skills.

The move is an example of the bilateral co-operation between the UAE and Israel that followed the signing of the Abraham Accords last year.

“The UAE media sector is witnessing tremendous progress, thanks to the unlimited support of our visionary leadership,” said Mohammed Al Rayssi, director general of Wam.

“We look forward to stepping up our co-operation with TPS through the exchange of expertise, sharing of best practices and developing professional skills.”

Amotz Eyal, director general of TPS, said the move was a crucial step.

“I am confident that the exchange of information and direct access to news will contribute to fostering economic, tourism and cultural ties between our countries,” he said.

With the adoption of Hebrew, Wam offers news in 19 languages.
