AJMAN // Two men have been arrested on suspicion of selling the drug Tramadol to teenagers.

A police spokesman said FA and RM were arrested on Monday in a sting operation by anti-narcotics officers acting on a tip-off that the pills were being sold for "huge amounts" of money.

Police said the pair, from unnamed Arab and Asian countries, were arrested as they were handing over the pills to a teenage boy.

Officers said they found illegal medicines, a hunting rifle and electric stun batons at the home of the two men.

In a separate case in Sharjah, police arrested three men they said had 6,621 tablets of Tramadol.

All have been referred to prosecutors.

Brig Ali Alwan, the Ajman police director general said: "The police will not tolerate those who come from other countries to affect our national security. We will arrest them from all their hiding places and give them tough penalties."
