Police have arrested two men after the body of an Indian worker was found in his room at a labour camp with a rope around his neck.

Colonel Mohammed Rashid Al Bayat, the director of CID, said officers ruled out suicide as they found the dead man, Sam Bal, who was in this early 30s, had been tortured and tied up before he died.

Police also found a piece of cloth in the room that they believe had been used to suffocate Mr Bal. The rope was tied around his neck to fool police into thinking it was suicide. The men have been referred to prosecutors.
