Tropical cyclone Mekunu is unlikely to directly affect the UAE – but the country may experience rain over the next few days, according to forecasters.

Temperatures will dip a little on Saturday, and clouds will develop over eastern and southern areas, which could bring rain at times, according to the forecast issued by the National Centre of Meteorology.

Temperatures will reach 40C on the coast and 44C inland. Humidity will reach up to 85 per cent on the coast and 75 per cent inland.

Sunday will be cloudy at times, with light to moderate winds that could bring rain at times. Light to moderate winds could also blow sand and dust in southern areas of the country from late night into morning.
