Police reports said the accident occurred about dawn near Al Wathba bridge.
Officials said the car was speeding, causing S M to lose control and the car to swerve into a metal barrier in the middle of the road.
The car then bounced away and hit a nearby palm tree, which fell but missed the car, said Col Hamad al Bloushi, the head of exterior areas traffic for Abu Dhabi Police.
