DUBAI // Three quarters of the development work along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road in Dubai has been completed, the Ministry of Public Works says.

Work on the motorway has included building three new bridges and adding new lanes to accommodate increasing traffic, at a total cost of Dh850 million.

Zahra Al Aboudi, acting undersecretary at the ministry, said the third and final phase of the project is expected to be completed by the start of 2014.

The last phase of the project involves increasing the number of lanes to five in each direction, adding new pavement layers, developing National Paints Roundabout and building three new bridges.
