The UAE is home to some of the most stunning desert landscapes in the world.
There are those who know the traditional ways of exploring them. For the rest of us, there’s the 4x4 and the recreational activity of dune bashing.
While it may look difficult, it’s a skill that can be learned by anyone, says Albert Mahesh, who runs Weekends with Albert - a Dubai-based dune bashing group.
“Once you’ve driven for a few times, at least four or five times you will automatically tend to take the line which is required,” he says.
He's been dune bashing most of his life, and is always willing to help those eager to learn, so The National caught up with him and his fellow dune-bashers to get an idea of how it's safely done.
