Umm Al Quwain traffic police are offering offenders a 50 per cent discount on fines until National Day.
UAQ offers discounts on traffic fines
Drivers in Umm Al Quwain will be able to take advantage of a 50 per cent discount on their traffic fines starting on Monday, the local police said.
The two-month discount period, which will end with the National Day celebrations, is meant to encourage motorists who have a backlog of traffic tickets or expired licenses to come forward and regularise their situation, said Lt Col Saeed Obaid bin Aran, the emirate’s chief of traffic.
The discount applies to all vehicles registered in Umm Al Quwain, and to drivers who committed traffic offences in the emirate’s territory and are registered in other emirates, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National, citing the official.
