The major roads from Sharjah to Dubai were busy on Tuesday morning.

But despite the downpours over the past 24 hours most other routes were operating as normal.

Heavy rain had fallen in Dubai overnight, with Dubai Police urging motorists to reduce speed during downpours.

Long tailbacks had formed on Tuesday on the 311 southbound from the National Paints junction almost down to Dubai airport.

It was also busy on the E11 from Ansar Mall south into Dubai until Al Qiyadah Metro station.

Roads were mostly clear in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. But traffic was heavy on the E22 heading into the city around the Al Maqta Bridge area. It was also slow going in both directions on Salam Street.
