Abu Dhabi's Integrated Transport Centre suggested commuters find alternative routes as tunnel closures in the capital caused traffic jams.

Abu Dhabi drivers on Sheikh Zayed Street could expect delays near the Sea Palace tunnel after a car halted to a stop amid maintenance problems while minutes later the Sheikh Zayed Tunnel was closed from the Mina and Corniche entrance. The closure was lifted shortly after, but the transportation authority said that delays remained.
In Dubai, an accident on Al Aweer Street opposite Dragon Mart caused congestion heading towards Ras Al Khor.
Meanwhile, last night's two-hour traffic jam in Jumeirah Lake Towers was caused by a burst water pipe. Road 5 opposite Damas had to be closed for repairs, the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre tweeted.
