Traffic clogged roads and highway exits on Sunday across the country as schools reopened after the December break.
An accident in Abu Dhabi on the E 10 Shahama road caused further traffic to build up across Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid road through to the Al Reef Club.
Foggy conditions slowed traffic on the Abu Dhabi – Al Ain road, Al Hamra area and over Sweihan.
Delays were also reported in the capital in the Eastern Mangroves through to Al Reem island, near the Grand Mosque area, in Mussaffah and on Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street.
The Dubai Police cautioned motorists to “always follow speed rules while driving.”
Tailbacks in Dubai spread across Jumeirah Village Circle, Silicon Oasis, Rashidiya, Al Qusasis, Dubai Investment Park and Dubai International Airport.
Traffic was slow in Sharjah near Industrial Areas 13 and 14, at Al Mamzar and Al Tawun streets and National Paints area.
