UAE traffic: Significant tailbacks in Dubai

Commuters faced delays as queues built up during rush hour

Drivers experienced significant delays in different parts of the UAE during the rush hour commute on Sunday morning.

The Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Road in Abu Dhabi experienced heavy traffic from the Al Shahama area. Heavier traffic were reported in Al Khaleej Al Arabi and Al Maqta Roads in the capital.

In Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road towards Al Muhaisnah, Mirdif and Nad Al Hammar areas were all busy. Commuters faced long tailbacks on Emirates Road towards Al Badia and Al Khawaneej area. Traffic stopped entirely in the Al Garhoud area in the Airport Road.

Vehicles were also at a standstill in Al Awir Road towards Ras Al Khor Industrial 3.

Motorists heading into Dubai faced bumper-to-bumper traffic on Al Ittihad street, Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Al Khail Road.

An accident was reported on Emirates Road on E611 that caused delays for motorists.
