UAE traffic: main routes into Abu Dhabi gridlocked
Tailbacks on long stretches of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street
The main routes into the capital were gridlocked this morning, with traffic reduced to a crawl on a number of roads.
There were tailbacks along long stretches of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street, with queues starting just after Sheikh Zayed Bridge.
Queues also began forming near the twofour54 building and ran all the way past the Eastern Mangroves Hotel.
There was another jam opposite Mangrove National Park up to Delma Park.
Traffic was also slow on the E20 Abu Dhabi – Sweihan – Al Hiyar road, starting just outside Zayed University and running up past the Armed Forces Officers Club.
A stretch of the E22 Al Ain Road was also crawling, starting at Sas Al Nakhl village up to Abu Dhabi Motors.
Only the E12 Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Highway over Saadiyat Island was clear.
