It was heavy going for motorists in parts of Abu Dhabi and Dubai on Tuesday.
In the capital, motorists faced delays on both sides of major traffic artery Salam Street.
Roadworks are continuing around the Sheikh Zayed Tunnel, which ferries motorists from Salam Street to the Corniche.
There were also delays heading into the city on the Abu Dhabi - Al Ain Road just before Maqta Bridge and on the Abu Dhabi - Sweihan stretch by Gate City.
Meanwhile in Dubai and Sharjah, it was slow moving for commuters heading into Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road and Mohammed bin Zayed Road.
Separately, one person died and six others were injured in two accidents in Abu Dhabi late on Monday.
The six were injured in a four-vehicle smash on Airport Road, while the man died in a second, three-vehicle crash.
Tailgating is suspected as being the cause of both accidents.
