Roads around Dubai International Airport are experiencing the worst of the congestion on Monday morning.
Traffic is building on the E11 Sheikh Zayed Road in Deira in the direction of Sharjah and also on the E311 near Mirdif in the same direction.
No accidents have been reported, but a gradual build up is causing slight delays to expected journey times.
Drivers are facing further congestion at the usual heavy traffic points close to Dubai Investments Park, also on the E311.
Most roads in Abu Dhabi are running well on Monday morning, although a gradual build-up of standing traffic is also causing slight delays on the E20 near Zayed University.
