UAE traffic: Accidents in Dubai as foggy conditions affect roads
Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah police advised motorists to be extra cautious on the roads
Early morning fog affected the morning commute on Tuesday morning, with accidents reported in Dubai and traffic snarls in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
An accident was reported on the E311 Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road between Al Kasarat roundabout and Dubai Investment Park roundabout, causing delays.
Dubai Police urged motorists to use an alternative route.
Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah police also advised motorists to be extra cautious on the roads and to leave sufficient distance between vehicles to cope with the low visibility caused by the fog.
Sharjah traffic snarls were reported in the usual spots on the E311 — Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road from Rifaa, Sharjah to Nad Al Shibaa in Dubai, and on the E11 — Al Ittihad Street from Sharjah Industrial Area 2 to Al Khabaisi.
Traffic was also reported on the E44 — Al Awir Road from Al Warqaa 1 to Ras Al Khor; on the E66 — Dubai-Al Ain Road from Dubailand Residence Complex to Dubai Silicon Oasis, and on the D61 — Hessa Street from JVC District 12 to Jumeirah Village Circle.
In the capital, heavy traffic was reported on E10 — Al Shahama Road, on Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street from Gate City to Abu Dhabi Gate City (West), and on Al Falah Street, moderate traffic was reported on Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street from Abu Dhabi Gate City (West) to Abu Dhabi.
