DUBAI // The Floating Bridge was temporarily closed on Sunday after a boat caught on fire.
Police asked motorists to use alternative routes as Civil Defence firefighting boats extinguished the blaze.

Meanwhile, accidents across the capital slowed traffic on Sunday as heavy congestion plagued commuters between Dubai and Sharjah.
In Abu Dhabi an accident at 7.45am on the Corniche underpass before Sultan bin Zayed Street blocked the middle lane but was quickly cleared, the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport said.
Police reminded motorists to drive with caution after an accident inbound on Airport Road after Khalifa City Bridge, which blocked the left lane and slowed traffic.
Commuters driving to Sharjah from Dubai experienced heavy traffic on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Al Ittihad Road.
Dubai Patrol and Traffic Department said the roads between Al Rebat Street from Al Warqa Bridge to Business Bay Crossing Bridge towards Al Khail Road were also heavily congested.
Elsewhere traffic was said to be normal.
