Self-service kiosks will soon be installed in Dubai shopping malls to allow customers to process vehicle and transport transactions.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) plans to initially install them at its customer service centres at Deira, Umm Al Ramool and Al Barsha, as well as Al Tawar Registration Centre, Union Station and the Dubai Airport.
The device is capable of providing a host of services such as inquiring about fine payments, licence renewal, and replacement of lost or damaged driving licences and registration cards.
The device can also issue a number of drivers’ certificates. Customers could make payments by cash, credit cards, Nol cards or NFC mobile phone technology.
Built-in cameras will allow video calls to support staff in case of a procedural or technical glitch or malfunction.
