Police warn of heavy traffic around Dubai Mall as shoppers head for super sale

Three-day event has kicked off

Dubai Police warned shoppers heading to Dubai Mall this evening that they could face delays in the Downtown area.

The three-day super sale was attracting shoppers keen for a bargain as the weekend began.

Police said via Twitter that patrols were in the area to regulate traffic and "ensure the safety of the public".

Retailers in the UAE were gearing up for one of the busiest weekends of the year as the Black Friday sales kicked off around the world.

Some stores in Dubai were said to be reducing prices by up to 90 per cent.
