A person died and three others were injured in a car accident in Ras Al Khaimah.
The driver and three passengers – all from GCC countries – were travelling from Al Nakheel when the driver lost control of the car and swerved around a corner near Al Rams before crashing into a concrete barrier in the centre of the road.
Police and an ambulance were called to the scene at 2.30am on Friday.
“One died and three suffered from moderate to severe injuries due to the accident,” said Col Ibrahim Matar, head of Al Rams Police station.
He said the injured and deceased were aged between 23 and 30 years old.
“They were transferred to the nearest hospital and the case was referred to the specialised authorities,’ he said.
Col Matar urged motorists to stay attentive, adhere to traffic rules and the speed limit.
