An Abu Dhabi Police officer was killed after a car crashed into his patrol vehicle.
Sergeant Ali Saeed Al Saadi, who worked for the traffic department in Al Ain, was on duty on Friday when the accident happened.
“[We] deeply regret this tragic incident…we express our deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the family of the deceased,” Abu Dhabi Police said in a statement.

Sergeant Al Saadi was helping direct traffic along the busy Hallami tunnel in Al Ain city when the driver crashed into his vehicle.
A medical team arrived within minutes but the officer was pronounced dead at the scene, according to reports.
In a tribute to Sergeant Al Saadi, police described the officer as a dedicated member of the force who showed great discipline throughout his career.
Hundreds of friends, family and Al Ain residents attended funeral prayers for Sergeant Al Saadi at the Matyr Omar Al Maqbali Mosque in Al Ain. His body was laid to rest in the Umm Ghafa cemetery on Friday afternoon.
