A motorist was caught driving at 204kph on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road in Ras Al Khaimah, where the speed limit is 120kph.

The speed cameras on that road are set to flash at 141kph, said Brig Mohammed Al Humaidi, director general of central operations at RAK Police.

He urged motorists to abide by traffic laws and avoid speeding.

Speeding motorists can be fined between Dh300 and Dh2,000 depending on the severity of the offence, according to the country's amended traffic law which came into effect on July 1.
