Girls 'seriously injured' after being hit by car in Abu Dhabi
Two girls suffered severe injuries after being hit by a car on a main road in Abu Dhabi.
The Arab girls, aged 3 and 4, seemingly wandered onto Khaleej Al Arabi on Saturday when they were hit by a car travelling outbound.
Initial investigations by Abu Dhabi Police revealed that the girls were unsupervised when they strayed onto the road and that the driver - an Asian man — lost control of the vehicle and hit them.
The girls are currently undergoing treatment at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City and Mafraq Hospital.
Lt Col Salah Al Humairi, deputy director of the capital's traffic department, wished them a speedy recovery and called on parents to watch over their children at all times.
