Taxis in Dubai will now display names of drivers on roof lights, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority said.

The initiative, #WhosYourCabbie, was launched by the RTA to help acknowledge the “frontline heroes who kept Dubai moving in the toughest times, and who add life to our streets every day.”

“We're proud of you, we know you, and we appreciate all that you do,” said the RTA.

The initiative, which is being trialled now, is to support the undervalued heroes of the coronavirus crisis.

“Many customers ask me several questions but they never ask my name,” said a driver in a video shared by the RTA on its Instagram account.

The video shows happy drivers when passengers call them by their names.
