A series of incidents took place across Dubai as extreme weather conditions took hold, including a woman who was injured after a tree fell on her house on Friday.

She was taken to hospital for treatment, Dubai police said.

The accident happened as the wet, dusty and windy conditions swept across the emirate with more forecast for Saturday.

It was one of 58 weather-related incidents on Friday, along with 252 accidents on the roads.

Brig Saif Al Mazrouei, director of Dubai traffic police, urged motorists to drive carefully and calmly.

“Among accidents reported on Friday, a vehicle crashed into a cement barrier on the Emirates Road. No injuries or casualties were reported,” said Brig Al Mazrouei.

Looking ahead, forecasters at the National Centre of Meteorology said to expect more rain and dust on Saturday.

The NCM warned of poor visibility of less than 2,000 metres over coastal and inland areas until the evening.

Cloud cover will increase with a chance of rain across internal and southern areas.

More dust storms over exposed areas are also possible and the sea will be moderate to rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Maximum temperatures will hit 49C while the lowest will be 26C. Humidity, meanwhile, could reach 90 per cent along the coast.
