DUBAI // Motorists will have to pump their own petrol at 10 stations from midnight on July 4.
The trial self-service phase will end at 6am, when forecourt staff at the Emirates Petroleum Product Company (Eppco) will resume service to cater to rush-hour traffic.
The Eppco petrol stations implementing self-service hours are located on in Dubai on Al Wasl Road, Oud Metha Road, Sheikh Zayed Road coming from Abu Dhabi, Mankhool Road, Al Nahda Road, Nadd Al Hammar and Al Qusais. Eppco said these stations were chosen because they record low customer numbers from midnight onwards.
Eppco said they hoped the midnight trial would "familiarise the public with the self-service concept", which the company hopes to eventually introduce at all its stations.
