An Emirati woman in her forties and a boy, 11, have been killed in a crash in Abu Dhabi.
Police said a speeding cement mixer smashed into the pavement, overturned and landed on top of their car.
“We received a report of the mixer ramming into the pavement, then the roundabout before it overturned,” said Lt Col Abdullah Al Suwaidi, of Abu Dhabi Police.
Lt Col Al Suwaidi urged motorists to abide by speed limits and pay due care and attention when on the roads.
The incident occurred near Al Bahia, north of Abu Dhabi island.
Two people sustained severe to moderate injuries and were taken to hospital.
