Nine new routes will be added to Dubai’s public bus service starting next week.

The expansion of the emirate’s bus service was announced by the Roads and Transport Authority, on Tuesday, who said the new routes are in response to growing passenger demand.

The new routes, that begin April 7, will connect Dubai to Al Ain and are expected to improve integration with Dubai’s metro service.

Route 20 from Al Warsan will terminate at Al Nahda via Airport Terminal 2. It will connect Rashidiya Metro Bus Station and International City with a service every 30 minutes during peak hours.

Route E201 from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station to Al Ain Bus station will run every half an hour as will route J02, which connects International Media Production Zone with Arabian Ranches by way of Dubai Studio City.

Route 310 will begin at Rashidiya Metro and Bus Station and end at International City with a frequency of 8 minutes during peak hours.

Route 320 from Rashidiya Metro and Bus Station to Silicon Oasis/Academic City will also run every eight minutes.

Two of the new routes will be metro feeder services: F34 from Dubai Internet City Metro Station to Dubai Production City via IMPZ while F37 will link Mall of the Emirates Metro Station with Dubai Sports City.

E315 will run from Etisalat Metro Station to Muwaileh Bus Station in Sharjah and E316 will travel between Rashidiya Metro Station and the University of Sharjah.

Changes to existing bus routes will also come into effect on April 7.
