DUBAI // The metro’s hours will be extended on Wednesday and Saturday to serve visitor numbers expected at Gitex Shopper 2017.
On Wednesday, the metro red line will run from 5.30am to 1am, an extra hour than usual.
On the same day, the green line will begin operations at 5.50am and close at 1.00am.
Gitex Shopper runs from Wednesday to Saturday at the World Trade Centre.
“The metro service on both the red and green lines will run as normal on Thursday, March 30, and Friday, March 31,” said Mohammed Yousef Al Mudharreb, director of rail operation at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
“Hosted annually by Dubai, Gitex Shopper attracts dozens of thousands of visitors from the region and far afield.
“With the growing footfall of Gitex Shopper every year, Dubai Metro is continuing to offer a convenient ride for visitors of the event, availing them a smooth, safe and express transit experience to and from the venue.”
