The Dubai Metro service between two stations on the Green Line was disrupted on Sunday with passengers taken off the carriages, the emirate’s Road and Transport Authority said.
The service between the Gold Souq and Baniyas Square stations, both in Deira, was affected for about two hours.
A reason for the disruption was not disclosed but carriages were evacuated while staff resolved the problem.
The RTA said the service was back online shortly before 2pm.
“Please be informed that the metro service between the Gold Souq Station and Baniyas Station has resumed service. Thank you for your co-operation,” it said.

Meanwhile, major progress has been made on the metro’s Route 2020 line.
Dubai Investments Park and Expo 2020 metro stations on the Red Line will open on June 1.
The decision means trains will shuttle directly between Al Rashidiya metro station and the Expo 2020 station from this date.
Jebel Ali Station will be an interchange station for those using UAE Exchange Station.
But only those with clearance to access the Expo site in Dubai South will be permitted to use the two until the World Fair’s official opening in October.
The two new stations were launched six months after the opening of Route 2020. The seven stations on the route are: Jebel Ali; The Gardens; Discovery Gardens; Al Furjan; Jumeirah Golf Estates; Dubai Investments Park; and Expo.
Only Jebel Ali; The Gardens; Discovery Gardens; and Al Furjan are open to the public.
