Diversions for Al Sufouh Road due to Dubai Tram project
DUBAI // Diversions are being put in place on Al Sufouh Road from Friday until July 15 to allow work to be carried out on the Dubai Tram project.
The diversions will affect four intersections on the road.
The first will be at the intersection parallel to Dubai College, the second near Dubai Media City, the third near Tamani Hotel and, finally, near the District 10 building.
The Roads and Transport Authority has urged residents and drivers in the area to understand that congestion may lead to longer journey times.
“Works will be carried out intensely, round the clock until the completion of all works related to the tram project,” said Maitha bin Udai, chief executive of RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency.
Dubai Tram is set to open in November and is expected to be used by about 27,000 passengers a day, hitting 66,000 a day by 2020.
Once complete, the tram line will run for almost 15km along Al Sufouh Road.
