Car parking website opens
ABU DHABI // A website for the Mawaqif parking management scheme is up and running, the Department of Transport announced yesterday.
The new site is in Arabic and English, and provides visitors with up-to-date information about Mawaqif services.
This includes a list of parking fees, the violations and their fines, as well as a map indicating the areas where the Mawaqif scheme applies.
Mawaqif.ae also allows visitors to browse through news and offers three new online services: resident permit renewal; violation payment; and the m-Mawaqif service, which allows customers to pay their parking fees by mobile phone.
To use the m-Mawaqif service, customers must first register for an online Mawaqif account using their mobile number and top up their accounts using the secure online credit card payment option.
Motorists can then use these funds to pay their parking fees by sending a text message in a predefined format to 3009.
