LONDON // German carmaker BMW is recalling BMW and Rolls-Royce cars powered by V8 and V12 engines in Britain, the United States and other markets because of a potential braking problem.
"In extreme cases, a loss of power-assisted steering may occur but mechanical braking is still available," a spokesman said. More than 10,000 vehicles are being recalled in Britain, he said, adding he could not say how many cars were affected worldwide.
In Britain, about 10,000 BMW 5, 6 and 7 Series models were affected, and 1,200 Rolls-Royces.
