A boy survived a car accident that killed his parents and aunt while they were driving to Al Ain.

The Pakistani family was driving on Dubai — Al Ain Road on Friday night when they became involved in a minor accident near Al Lisaili bridge.

Police said the family, travelling in a small car, had stopped on the road when, at 8.45pm, an SUV rammed into them, pushing the car off the road.

The boy's father, mother and aunt — whose ages were not disclosed — were severely injured in the crash and died at Rashid Hospital later that night. The boy was also hurt but police described his injuries as minor.

Director of Al Faqa police station, Col Saeed Al Khaili said that the driver of the SUV, who suffered minor injuries, was not paying attention and had not kept a safe distance between their cars.
